What is MKV? It
is Matroska
video, Matroska is the extensible open standard Audio/Video
container.
The format is usually found as .mkv files (matroska video) and .mka
files (matroska audio). It is the opensource alternative to
existing containers such as AVI,
MPG,
MP4,ASF, MOV, RM.
First please download
Matroska
codec pack if your Windows does not install it. If your mkv
files are not played by Windows Media Player, you still need
to install extra video and audio decoder for the mkv file.
To Join MKV files, please download
Open Video Joiner. You
can use the video joiner as MKV Joiner, MKV
Merger, MKV Combiner to join mkv, merge mkv, or combine mkv
files.
Decoder requirements:
the
proper MKV audio video decoder.
Encoder
requirements: avi encoder such as DivX codec or XviD codec
output format: AVI
How to join mkv
files:
1. Click
the Add Video button, select the MKV files.
2. Click
the Options button to change the output file name, frame rate,
frame size, resize mode, audio compressor or video compressor.
To change
each transition and the transition duration, click the
Transition button or rightclick an mkv in the list.
You may
start to merge/combine/join mkv files directly without any
configuration.
To view
each MKV file, doubleclick an mkv file in the list, Window
Media Player will play it automatically.
To preview
the transition effect and the output MKV sequence, click the
Preview button. The duration of each MKV is limited in 10
seconds for your preview the output quickly.
3. At last
click the Join button to join MKV files.
